Anxiety, Overthinking &
Emotional Regulation Therapy
Support for Anxiety, Racing Thoughts and Emotional Overwhelm
Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel. It can leave your mind constantly racing, make everyday decisions feel overwhelming and keep you caught in cycles of worry, overthinking or panic. You may understand logically that you are safe, yet still find it difficult to switch off the physical and emotional response.
How Anxiety and Overthinking Can Affect Everyday Life
Anxiety and overthinking can affect concentration, sleep, relationships and your ability to make decisions. You might replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, seek reassurance or find yourself avoiding situations because they feel too difficult or unpredictable.
For some people, anxiety is experienced mainly through thoughts. For others, it can be very physical, with symptoms such as a racing heart, tension, nausea, breathlessness or a sense of panic. Sometimes it is difficult to identify a specific reason for feeling anxious at all.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy can help you understand the patterns that keep anxiety and overthinking going, rather than simply trying to suppress the symptoms. Together, we can explore the thoughts, emotions and experiences that may be contributing to how you feel.
Using approaches including CBT, Mindfulness-Based CBT and person-centred therapy, we can develop practical strategies to manage anxious thoughts, reduce rumination and respond differently when you feel overwhelmed. Therapy is tailored to you, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
My Approach to Anxiety Therapy
My approach is collaborative, compassionate and practical. I draw on CBT, Mindfulness-Based CBT and person-centred therapy, adapting the way we work to your individual needs, experiences and goals.
We can look at both what is happening for you now and, where helpful, the experiences or patterns that may sit behind your anxiety. The aim is not to eliminate every anxious thought, but to help you feel less controlled by them and more confident in how you respond.
Online Anxiety Therapy Across the UK
I provide therapy online via Microsoft Teams or by telephone, so you can access support from your own home wherever you are in the UK. Online therapy can be particularly helpful if anxiety makes travelling, unfamiliar environments or attending appointments in person feel difficult.
Sessions are 60 minutes and cost £70. I also offer a free 30-minute introductory call, giving you an opportunity to talk about what is bringing you to therapy and ask any questions before deciding whether you would like to work together.
Ready to Take the First Step?
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, particularly when anxiety already makes decisions feel difficult. The free 30-minute introductory call gives you a chance to tell me a little about what is happening for you, ask any questions and see whether working together feels right.
