Support With Relationships, Confidence & Self-Esteem
Difficulties in relationships, confidence and self-esteem can affect how you feel about yourself and how you connect with other people. You may find yourself questioning your own judgement, worrying about what others think, avoiding conflict or repeatedly putting other people's needs before your own.
I provide professional online therapy for adults across the UK, helping you explore the patterns affecting your relationships and sense of self, understand where they may have developed and build greater confidence in expressing your needs, setting boundaries and making choices that feel right for you.
How Relationship Difficulties Can Affect Emotional Wellbeing
Relationship difficulties can affect far more than the relationship itself. Ongoing conflict, poor communication, uncertainty or feeling unheard can contribute to anxiety, low mood, frustration and self-doubt.
You may find yourself replaying conversations, worrying about rejection or abandonment, struggling to trust other people or finding it difficult to communicate what you need. Previous experiences can also influence current relationships, sometimes creating patterns that are difficult to recognise or change without support.
Confidence, Self-Esteem & Sense of Self
Low confidence and self-esteem can influence the way you see yourself, the decisions you make and what you believe you deserve from relationships and life. You may be highly critical of yourself, compare yourself with other people or find it difficult to recognise your own strengths and achievements.
These feelings can develop for many reasons, including past relationships, criticism, rejection, difficult experiences or long-standing beliefs about yourself. Over time, they can affect boundaries, relationships, work and your willingness to pursue things that matter to you.
Recognising Unhelpful Relationship Patterns
Sometimes the same difficulties can appear repeatedly across different relationships. You may find yourself avoiding difficult conversations, taking responsibility for other people's emotions, struggling to say no or remaining in situations that leave you feeling unhappy or undervalued.
Recognising these patterns does not mean blaming yourself for them. Therapy can help you understand how earlier experiences, expectations and beliefs may influence the way you relate to other people now, giving you greater awareness and more choice in how you respond.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy can provide a confidential space to explore relationship difficulties, low confidence and self-esteem without judgement. It can help you understand the thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be affecting how you see yourself and relate to other people.
Our work may include developing healthier boundaries, improving communication, challenging unhelpful beliefs about yourself and building greater confidence in expressing your needs. The aim is not to tell you what decisions to make, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and feel more confident making choices that are right for you.
